Ebac BD150 & BD150CR dehumidifiers provide fast and efficient drying with its powerful 650 cfm of airflow and moisture removal of up to 27 gallons in extreme conditions. It is designed to be transported from area to area that requires fast drying due to flood in basements or office. Since it is not quiet and uses more electricity than the average dehumidifier we do not recommend it for use in residential or commercial areas where one is looking to control the humidity in a space day in and day out.

Pluses:
- Powerful: high air flow at 650 cfm for fast drying in critical situations such as floods, and great for use in locations such as museums, schools, or archives.
- Low Temperature Operation: operates down to 33°F before shutting off. The “Hot Gas” defrost automatically eliminates frost build up.
- Easy Mobility: dehumidifiers are wheel mounted on 2 large wheels and collapsible handle for easy moving.
- Sturdy construction with its rugged epoxy powder-coated steel chassis and housing.
- Built-in Features: dehumidifier model BD150-CR has internal condensate pump.
Minuses:
- No adjustable humidistat but one can purchase the total humidity controller below
- Dehumidifiers are heavy at 146 lbs, yet they are mobile with 2 large back wheels and collapsible handle
- High power usage at 13 amps per hour – not the most efficient dehumidifiers of the Ebac line
- At 72 dba, this is not the quietest model
Summary:
The Ebac BD150 & the BD150CR have been in Ebac’s line-up the longest and are very powerful and excellent in conditions requiring fast drying due to flooding and other water related issues. Like their other models these can operate in extreme conditions down to 33 degrees with its Hot Gas Defrost that will cycle on every 40 to 50 minutes for 3 to 5 minutes and then resume dehumidifying. It is very heavy but mobile with its 2 large back wheels and collapsible handle. We would prefer a model that is quieter and used less electricity but we realize it is not best when placed in one’s basement to run day in and day out to keep the air dry. Actually, it is suited for someone who has an urgent water situation in their home, basement, office, or warehouse, due to a hurricane, flash flood, heavy rain, or water main break. Its primary purpose is to move it to the location and set it up fast and easy so one can dry out any area with significant water issues quickly. With its powerful air flow and low temperature operation, this unit can reduce the costs and time of drying by conventional heating by as much as 70%. There is nothing fancy about this model but one should strongly consider it if they have an urgent situation to restore a water damaged area.
